About Us

The Student Senate was established on campus to provide student governance by representatives from academic programs and to conduct student activities. Student Senate meetings are held at scheduled times as announced at the beginning of each semester and at special times as re-quired. The Senate is responsible for funding many of the campus social, educational, cultural, and recreational events. Any student is eligible to become a member of the Student Senate.

Elections are held in April for returning students and in September for new students. Details about the Senate may be found in the Senate Constitution.

The Student Senate, at the end of the spring semester, awards $1,000 tuition scholarships to four returning students. The Senate also awards $1,000 tuition scholarships to two graduating seniors based on contribution to Student Life (90%), and academic performance (10%) with a GPA mini-mum of 2.5.
