Greetings -
Welcome and congratulations on selecting NHTI to continue your
education!
On behalf of the Student Senate, it is my pleasure to welcome
you to NHTI,
Concord’s Community College. Our campus is privileged to have
many students of all ages, backgrounds and interests. Regardless
of your reason for attending NHTI, there are many opportunities
for you to pursue your personal objectives including: academic
classes and programs, clubs, organizations, athletics, committees,
and community service. |

As you adjust to the NHTI environment,
there are many resources to explore and a significant number of
clubs and organization to join. Academic major specific organizations
such as SADHA for Dental Hygiene students, or SME for the Mechanical
Engineering Technology students, or the Paralegal Association
for Paralegal students. There are clubs built around a specific
purpose, such as the Alternative Spring Break or Recycling Clubs,
while others exist with a particular concentration including the
Gamers’ League, Paintball Club, Spirit Club, and more. If for
some reason you don’t see a club that interests you, then you
can start your own. Of course there is the Student Senate. As
the student government association of NHTI, the Student Senate
approves budgets of the clubs and organizations on campus as well
as being the eyes and ears of the campus. One of the new initiatives
that the Senate undertook this year was to create awareness and
institute a Mascot to represent NHTI at various campus events.
I am proud to say that a TITAN is now the official Mascot. It
is our privilege to represent the students of NHTI so feel free
to voice your comments and concerns with us, or join us in helping
NHTI grow.
There are many other resources available to students
at NHTI. Numerous computer labs, a wireless campus environment,
Code Blue safety call boxes and, if you are looking for academic
help, you can find it at the Learning Center in the Library. The
Learning Center offers tutors and writing assistance as well as
many other resources. Also keep in mind that there are many jobs
available for students at NHTI.
As you can see, whatever your interest is you can find it here
at NHTI. Eleanor Roosevelt once said “The purpose of life is to
live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly
and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
I hope that you will seize the opportunities that NHTI offers
you and that you make your experience here as rewarding as it
can be!
Best of luck in your endeavors!
Sincerely,

Ally Steele
