Message from the President

Greetings -

Dear Students,
Hi, my name is Patrick Dineen and I have the honor of representing the students of NHTI as the President of Student Senate. I arrived at NHTI in the fall of 2007 with one priority in mind - academics. That priority expanded when I became aware of the extensive student life at Concord’s Community College. Our college offers a world of opportunity in the same way a larger college or university does. Most students do not realize the full potential of NHTI’s student life, which has over 30 clubs and organizations and 12 athletics teams to get you involved on campus. Did you know that you as the student, have the ability to start a club if you don’t see something that fits your needs? Whatever your interests, take the time to share it with the rest of us.

President of Student

Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than to see students become passionately involved on campus trying to share their hobbies and interests with the rest of us.
There are clubs and organizations across campus to appeal to any student. Say your interests are in literature and publishing, the “The Eye” is for you. Maybe you enjoy playing paintball or the latest video games, in that case NHTI has the Paintball Club and Gamers League. Not up your alley? Well, we also have the Environmental Action Club and the Alternative Spring Break Club - both of which are great outlets to give back to the community. Let’s not forget about Student Senate, where we help provide funding for other clubs across campus, choose our sports team name and foster leadership qualities. These diverse clubs are just to name a few, and reflect the desires, passions and interests of our students.

You may be asking yourself, “What about the academics?” NHTI’s academic offerings have just as many potential doors for you to walk through as our co-curricular activities do. NHTI offers over 62 degrees and certificates with a student-to-faculty ratio that gives each student the attention he/she deserves. Students can receive peer-to-peer tutoring and group tutoring at the Learning Center at no extra cost. We have an outstanding academic presence within each program’s respective professional community. The college produces high scoring RN’s, and also well trained IT majors, each taught by teachers who are very passionate about their classes.

NHTI has everything covered for the incoming student from brand new food service facilities, to a scenic walking path around campus property. Please take the advice that was given to me upon arriving here and that was to become a part of campus life here at NHTI, whether it be socializing by the ping-pong table in the Student Center or running with the cross-country team after classes. Better yet if you don’t see something you could immerse yourself into, come see me and we will try to work things out. Feel free to take full advantage of the world of opportunities at NHTI. On behalf of the Student Senate and myself, “Welcome to NHTI.”
Good luck and best wishes.

Sincerely,

Patrick Dineen
